Four George III, Silver Sauce Ladles, Edinburgh
DescriptionA very good Set of Four Antique, George III, Scottish Sterling Silver Sauce Ladles made in Edinburgh by Alexander Zeigler and dating from c1790.
The have the engraved initial "H" on the handles.
They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "AZ", the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and the Monarch's Head Duty Mark.
There is no date letter however they would date from c1790.
Alexander Zeigler is recorded as working in Edinburgh from 1784 - 1802.
They measure approximately 6 3/4" inches (170mm) in length. The bowls 37mm in diameter
The combined weight is 87.8g/3.09oz/2.82ozt
In very good condition.
