DescriptionAn Antique George III, English Provincial Sterling Silver Gravy (Basting or Stuffing) Spoon made by John Langlands I & John Robertson I, Newcastle c1790.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "IL/IR" for John Langlands I & John Robertson I, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned, the "three castles" Newcastle town mark and the Monarch's Head duty mark.
There is no date letter, however the partnership between John Langlands I and John Robertson I is recorded as being active 1778 - 1795 therefore the spoon dates from c1790.
It measures 12" inches (305mm) in length. The weight is 102.2g/3.60oz/3.28ozt.
It is in excellent condition.
