Rare Scottish Verge Pocket Watch, Edinburgh
DescriptionA very rare Scottish Silver Pair Cased Verge Pocket Watch made by A Dickieson, Edinburgh and dating from c1780.
The outer case has some minor damage to the shell covering, some of it is missing and there are some minor cracks, but generally in very reasonable condition considering it is approximately 235 years old !
The inner silver case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "IL" (possibly for John Luff, the Leopard's Head Crowned London town mark and date letter "d" for 1779/80.
The movement is in good condition and working. It is signed by the maker.
