Pair of English Sterling Silver Candlesticks
DescriptionA good pair of English Silver Candlesticks made by Payton, Pepper & Sons Ltd, Vyse Street, Birmingham and dating from c1972.
They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "PPLd" for Payton, Pepper & Sons Ltd, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the anchor town mark for Birmingham and date letter "X" for 1972/73.
The bases are "loaded". This is common with candlesticks where a heavier metal is added to the base in order to increase stability and to prevent them toppling over for obvious safety reasons.
DimensionsThey measure approx. 9" inches (220mm) in height, the bases 4" inches in diameter.

ConditionThey are in very good condition with only some extremely minor indents to the rim of the base.
