Superb Set of Four English Silver Candlesticks
DescriptionA superb Set of Four George II Style, Victorian English Silver Candlesticks made in Sheffield and dating from c1889.
Each candlestick is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JKB" for Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd (James Kebberling Bembridge), the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the Crown Sheffield town mark and date letter "W" for 1889/90.
The bases are loaded. This is common with candlesticks, the bases having a heavier material to make them more stable for obvious reasons.
DimensionsThey measure just over 7 1/2" inches (195mm) in height.
The bases 4 1/4" (110mm) square.
