Victorian Scottish Silver Gravy Spoon, Edinburgh
DescriptionA very good, early Victorian, single struck King's Pattern, Scottish Silver Gravy or Basting Spoon made by James & William Marshall, Edinburgh and dating from c1854.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "J&WM" for James & William Marshall, the Edinburgh castle town mark, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the date letter "X" for 1854/55 and the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria).
There is an armorial crest on the handle (see photo).
