Large Silver Scottish Celtic Quaich, c1985

 

 

DescriptionA very good quality, large sized, Sterling Silver Scottish Quaich made by Wakely & Wheeler. A very nice, Silver Quaich with no engravings nor personal inscriptions, it would make an ideal trophy or presentation piece. The Quaich was assayed in London, it is hallmarked with the maker's mark "W&W" for Wakley & Wheeler, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "L" for 1985. The Quaich measures 6 1/4" inches (160mm) in diameter (across the bowl) and measures 9 1/2" inches (240mm) in width across the lugs. The weight is 407g/14.4oz. It is in excellent condition.
