Vintage Scottish Sterling Silver Kilt Belt Buckle
DescriptionA good quality, vintage, Scottish Sterling Silver kilt belt buckle made in Edinburgh and dating from c1987.
The buckle is hallmarked with the maker's mark "T.E" for Thomas Kerr Ebutt, the Scottish Lion Rampant sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter "N" for 1987.
Thomas Kerr Ebutt was a manufacturing jeweller, with premises at St David's Square, Edinburgh
Ebbutt started work in 1896 and died in 1921. His company continued in business until 1977 when it was bought by Hamilton & Inches. They continued to use the TE mark until c2000.
The buckle measures approximately 90mm x 65mm.
It is in excellent condition.
