Swiss Silver Jubilee Hallmarked Pocket Watch c1935
DescriptionA good, gentleman's Swiss made, DF&C UNO sterling silver cased Pocket Watch dating from c1935.
This watch is a good example, in nice condition and in good working order.
The English made, sterling silver case is in good condition, both covers opening and closing tightly as they should. It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The maker's mark "ALD" for Aaron Lufkin Dennison, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the anchor Birmingham town mark and the date letter "K" for 1934/35. In addition to the standard set of English hallmarks there is also the optional Silver Jubilee mark to celebrate 25 years King George V. Also stamped with the case maker's name, Dennison Watch Case Co Ltd. The rear of the case with engine turned engraving and a central cartouche.
The white enamel dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in Arabic numerals and a sub-seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed Swiss Made.
The good quality, 15 jewel movement is in excellent working order.
The watch measures 50mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
Overall, this is a very good example, it would make a lovely addition to any collection.
