The leather case with sliding mechanism, opening to reveal the watch face. The dial signed "Mappin" and also "17 Jewel, Incabloc".
Incabloc is the trade name for a spring loaded shock absorbing mechanism that prevents the balance wheel pivots from damage.
The underside of the case stamped with US Patent numbers.
The case measures 55mm x 35mm when closed, extending to 80mm when open.
