Johnson, Matthey & Co. were suppliers of pen & pencil tubing to Yard-O-Led, one of the world's leading manufacturers of fine pens and pencils. A RARE VINTAGE 18CT ENGLISH HALLMARKED SOLID GOLD WATERMAN FOUNTAIN PEN A very nice, 18 carat solid gold cased, Waterman Fountain pen. The barrel of the pen has full English hallmarks for 18 carat solid gold the maker's mark "SJR" for S J Rose & Son (Goldsmiths), the "crown" and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "r" for 1972/73. The pen has an 18ct gold nib. The plain solid gold 18 carat case has the former owners family crest engraved below a coronet (see photo).
