An antique Scottish Pair Cased Fusee Pocket Watch made by James Davidson of New Deer. Both solid silver cases are in excellent condition. They are hallmarked with the case maker’s initials "JR", for John Rotherham, (Rotherham & Sons, watch & watch case manufactures, Spon Street Coventry), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Birmingham town mark and the date letter "f" for 1905/06. The Lever Fusee movement is in good working order. It is signed "James Davidson, New Deer". It is key wound and set with the key provided. The movement has a nicely engraved balance cock and has the serial number 32604. The silver & gold dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in gold Roman numeral and gold decoration to the outer chapter and centre. The watch measures approximately 52 mm in diameter (excuding stem and bow ring). Overall a very nice, Silver Pair Cased pocket watch, a nice one for your collection.

Superb 18CT Gold Swiss Fob Pocket Watch c1890
A very good quality, antique, 18CT Gold Fob Pocket Watch made by J Pourrat & Sons of Switzerland. The 18CT Gold watch case is in very good condition. The inside of the rear cover stamped "18K" for 18 carat gold alongside Swiss control marks and the serial number 12522. The inner cuvette (dust cover) similarly marked, a sign of quality as they are often base metal on these type of watches. The cuvette also engraved with the maker's name "J Pourrat & Fils, de Geneve, Chronometre". The rear cover has engraved initials. The Swiss made movement is in very good condition and working order. The movement with wolf teeth winding wheels, another sure sign of a quality watch. The dial is in excellent condition. It has the hours in Arabic numerals and there is a sub-seconds dial at six o'clock. The watch in very good condition and working order. The watch measures 31mm in diameter. The weight is 25.3g. It is complete with fitted presentation case.

18CT Gold Pocket Watch, J Pourrat & Fils, c1895
A very good quality, Antique, Victorian 18CT Gold English Pocket Watch by a listed maker John Cashmore of London and dating from c1888. John Cashmore was born in 1821. The watchmaker is listed as working from 1 North Buildings, South Place, Finsbury, London from c1857, later moving to premises in Eldon Street and working their in the 1890's. The watch is an excellent example, in very good overall condition and and excellent working order. The English, plain, 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "JH" (probably for Joseph Hirst), the "crown and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "N" for 1888/89. The inner cuvette similarly marked. The case also stamped with the serial number 6569 to match the movement proving both are original and have been together since new. The English Lever movement is signed by the maker "John Cashmore, 1 North Buildgs., South Place, Finsbury, London" and serial number 6569. The watch is stem wound and pin set. The white enamel dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in roman numerals and is signed by the maker "John Cashmore, London". The watch measures 39mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 59.3g. A good example of a Victorian English Pocket Watch by a highly regarded maker.

18CT Gold Pocket Watch, J Cashmore, London c1888
A very good quality 18CT Gold Pocket Watch made in Switzerland and retailed by Edward (Diamond Merchants), 92 Buchanan Street, Glasgow. The 18 carat gold watch case is stamped "18K" for 18 carat gold alongside the serial number 120161 to both the rear cover and inner cuvette (dust cover). The case is in very good condition. It has engraved initials to the rear (see photo). The high grade Swiss made movement is in excellent condition, recently serviced and very good working order. It is signed "Swiss Made" and has the retailers name "Edward, Glasgow". The dial is in excellent condition, it has the hours in Arabic numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. Also with the retailers name "Edward, Glasgow". An very nice example of a fine Swiss made watch. It measures 47mm in diameter (excluding crown). The weight is 52.5g.

18CT Gold Gent's Pocket Watch, Edward, Glasgow
A Scottish Pair (Double) Cased Pocket Watch by James Walker of Aberdeen, Scotland. This watch is NOT in working order therefore being sold as in need of repair/restoration. The English Silver double case hallmarked with the maker's mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the London town mark and date letter "P" for 1850/51. Both inner and outer cases in good condition. The dial is in good condition (the seconds hand is missing. The fusee movement is signed with the makers name "Jas. Walker, Aberdeen" and serial number. The outer case has an old watchmaker's paper inside from William Petrie of New Deer in Aberdeenshire. A nice old watch for the collector, but will need repair if to be brought back to working order.

A good Elgin gold plated Pocket Watch in good condition and in good working order. The good quality, 15 Jewel, Elgin movement is in good condition and working order. It has the serial number 17,200021 dating it to c1912. It is signed "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co" . The movement is stem wind and set. The Gold Plated, watch case is in good condition, although it does have a minor scratches to the rear cover (see photo). It has nice decorative engraving to the rear. The inside the rear cover is the case maker's name "Illinois Watch Case Company, Elgin" alongside the case serial number. Both front and rear covers are the "screw off" type. The watch measures 48mm in diameter excluding the crown/bow ring.

Antique Elgin 15J Gold Plated Pocket Watch c1912
A lovely, very good quality, 18CT Gold Half Hunter Fob Pocket Watch in immaculate condition and working order. The 18CT solid gold case stamped "18K" for 18 carat gold alongside the serial number 48535 and Swiss control marks. It also has the maker/importers stamp "CCE FRES" - I understand this may be for Joseph Auguste Clements watch importer of 11 Southampton Row, High Holborn, London. The front of the case has the hours in Roman numerals in blue enamel. The rear of the case has engraved initials and the inner cuvette with the date engraved "11th August 1904". The watch most probably originally received as a gift to mark a special ocassion. The very good quality, Swiss made movement is in good condition and working order. The white enamel dial in excellent condition, with the hours in Roman numerals. Overall a lovely example in excellent condition and working order. The watch measures 35mm across the case. The weight is 38.8g

Immaculate 18CT Gold Half Hunter Pocket Watch
A very good quality, Gentleman's, Antique Sterling Silver Half Hunter Pocket Watch, in excellent condition and in working order. This watch would have originally been retailed by the London branch of Stauffer & Co. The watch case has the importers sponsors mark "CN" for Charles Nicolet, trading as Stauffer, Son & Co, watch importers & manufacturers, Charterhouse Street, Holborn, London. The company of Stauffer, Son & Co was founded in 1830 and had a factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. They had a subsidiary company Stauffer & Co (S&Co) in London that distributed watches to the British market. Charles Nicolet took over the company c1879. Stauffer & Co sourced watches and movements from different sources including the highly regarded International Watch Company (IWC). These watches were stamped with the "S&Co" mark below a crown and also stamped "Peerless". The movement serial number has been confirmed to have been supplied by IWC, the International Watch Company, Schaffhausen and dates from c1916. The movement is also stamped with the Swiss Cross alongside a Swiss patent number 55231. This patent was granted to IWC. The good quality sterling silver case is in excellent condition. It is hallmarked with the sponsor's mark "CN" for Charles Nicolet, alongside ".925" for sterling silver, the London town import mark and date letter "d" for 1919/20. It also has the case serial number 759384. The inner cuvette similarly hallmarked. The crown and bow ring also hallmarked for sterling silver. The very good quality movement made by the Swiss company IWC is in excellent condition and good working order. It is stem wound and lever set - the time being set by turning the winding crown after extracting the small lever located on the side of the bezel between four and five o'clock. The movement is signed with the "S&Co" mark below a crown, within an oval, also stamped "Peerless" below the serial number 636,698 and "Swiss" for Swiss made. The white enamel dial is in good condition. It has the hours in gold Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is complemented by a nice pair of blued steel original half hunter type hands. The watch measures approximately 49 mm in diameter (excuding stem and bow ring). The weight is 101.3g Overall a very nice, Gentleman's sterling silver half hunter pocket watch, a nice one for your collection.

It is stem wound and pin set - the time being set by turning the winding crown whilst depressing the small pin located on the case side band at eleven o'clock. The movement is signed with the "S&Co" mark below a crown, within an oval, also stamped "Peerless" below the serial number and "Swiss" for Swiss made. The white enamel dial is in good condition. It has the hours in gold Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. The watch measures approximately 46 mm in diameter (excuding stem and bow ring). The weight is 78.9g. A very good Antique, early Victorian 18CT Gold English Fusee Pocket Watch by one of the most highly regarded and sought after English makers Frodsham, Gracechurch Street, London. The watch is in very good overall condition and and excellent working order. The English 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "AS", the "crown and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "P" for 1850/51. The plain gold case has the family crest of the original owner engraved to the centre of the rear cover. The suspension loop is not hallmarked therefore not gold and may be a later replacement. The English Fusee movement is signed by the maker "Frodsham, Gracechurch St., London". It has a nicely engraved balance cock with a diamond end stone. The watch is key wound and key set with the key provided. The white enamel dial is in reasonably good condition, but does have some imperfections as can be seen, there are some faint hairlines adn a chip at the top above twelve o'clock (see photo). It has the hours in roman numerals and has a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed "Frodsham, Gracechurch Street, London". The watch measures 48mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 76.2g. A good example of a Victorian English Chronometer Pocket Watch by a highly regarded and sought after maker.
