A good pair of English Sterling Silver Candlesticks made by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd at their Rockingham Street works in Sheffield, retailed by Mackay & Chisholm, of Princes Street, Edinburgh. The candlesticks are of octagonal form. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "HE Ld" for Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd, the Lion Passant sterling Silver mark, the crown town mark for Sheffield and date letter for 1913/14. The underside of the bases also stamped with the retailer's name "Mackay & Chisholm, Edinburgh". The bases are loaded - common with candlesticks where the base has heavier material inside for greater stability for obvious reasons.

They measure 7" inches (210mm) in height. The bases measure 3 3/4" inches (95mm) across the flats.

Pair George V English Sterling Silver Candlesticks
A superb Set of Four George II Style, Victorian English Silver Candlesticks made in Sheffield and dating from c1889. Each candlestick is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JKB" for Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd (James Kebberling Bembridge), the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the Crown Sheffield town mark and date letter "W" for 1889/90. The bases are loaded. This is common with candlesticks, the bases having a heavier material to make them more stable for obvious reasons.

They measure just over 7 1/2" inches (195mm) in height. The bases 4 1/4" (110mm) square.

Superb Set of Four English Silver Candlesticks
A very good quality, Large, heavy, George III, English Sterling Silver Sauce Boat. It is hallmarked on the underside with the maker's mark "RM/BS" for Richard Morson & Benjamin Stephenson, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Crowned Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter for 1774/75. The sauce boat supported on three feet with a gadrooned edge. There is a crest to the front.

It measures 8 1/2" inches (215mm) in length. The weight is 424.8g/14.98oz/13.65ozt
