A Georgian Scottish Silver Gravy Spoon made in Edinburgh by John Zeigler and dating from 1809/10. The spoon is hallmarked with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the maker's mark "Z" for John Zeigler, the "thistle" Scottish Silver mark, the Edinburgh Castle town mark and date letter "d" for 1809/10.

It measures 12 1/2" inches (320mm) in length. The weight is 98.5g/3.48oz/3.17ozt

George III, Edinburgh Silver Gravy Spoon, Zeigler
A nice Cased Pair of Scottish Provincial Silver Dishes by James Carr, Aberdeen. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "JC" for James Carr of Aberdeen, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Birmingham town mark and date letter "L" for 1935/36. The base is also stamped "James Carr, Aberdeen".

Cased Pair of Scottish Provincial Silver Dishes
A nice, Georgian Scottish Provincial Silver Toddy Ladle made in Aberdeen by James Erskine and dating from c1795. James Erskine is recorded in Jackson's Silver as working in Aberdeen c1792 to 1818. It is marked with the the maker's mark only "JE" for James Erskine. It has initials engraved on the handle. A nice, rare Scottish Silver Ladle.

It measures approx. 5 3/4" inches (145mm) in length.

A very good pair of Scottish Silver Ladles made in Edinburgh and dating from 1853. They have the engraved initial "K" on the handle. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark, the Scottish "thistle" silver mark, the date letter "w" for 1853/54 and the Monarch's Head duty mark.

There is an engraved initial on teh end (see photo)

A very good, early Victorian, single struck King's Pattern, Scottish Silver Gravy or Basting Spoon made by James & William Marshall, Edinburgh and dating from c1854. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "J&WM" for James & William Marshall, the Edinburgh castle town mark, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the date letter "X" for 1854/55 and the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria). There is an armorial crest on the handle (see photo).

Victorian Scottish Silver Gravy Spoon, Edinburgh
A very nice pair of modern Scottish Silver Spoons made by Robert Edgar Stone, hallmarked in Edinburgh and dating from 1972/73. Robert Edgar Stone (1903 - 1990) founded his own workshop in London in 1929. He made items for a number of highly regarded firms such as Asprey, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, Hamilton & Inches. His work is sought after by collectors. He often stamped his pieces with a facsimilie signature as can be seen on this pair of spoons. The spoons have a twisted stem and hammered bowls. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "R.E.S" for Robert Edgar Stone, the Scottish "thistle" sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "R" for 1972/73, above his facsimilie signature "R E Stone".

They measure 5 3/4" inches (147mm) in length. The combined weight is 68.9g

A Scottish Provincial Silver Tablespoon made by James Erskine of Aberdeen and dating from c1795. James Erskine is recorded as working in Aberdeen c1792 - 1816. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "IE" for James Erskine and the letters "ABD" the town mark for Aberdeen. The spoon is in very good condition, with a minor indent in the bowl near the tip. The spoon measures in excess of 9" inches in length therefore would make a very nice serving spoon.

A set of Twelve, George III, Scottish Silver Dessert Spoons made in Edinburgh and dating from c1797. They are hallmarked with the Edinburgh Castle town mark, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Monarchs Head duty mark and date letters "R/Q" for 1797. They have the maker's mark "AE" (worn) on 10 spoons, one spoon with the mark completely worn, the other with maker's mark "WE". All twelve spoons have engraved initials (see photo) A lovely set of twelve Scottish Silver spoons in excellent condition.
