A rare, early George III, Scottish Sterling Silver Sauce Boat made by Patrick Robertson of Edinburgh and dating from c1770. Patrick Robertson is recorded as working in Edinburgh c1769 to 1790. The plain silver sauce boat is hallmarked on the underside of the base with the maker's mark "PR" for Patrick Robertson and on the rim of the base with the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter, difficult to read but probably "R" for 1771/72. The sauce boat measures 7" inches (180mm) in length. The weight is 188.5g/6.64oz/6.06ozt. It is in very good condition.

Rare Scottish Silver Sauce Boat, Edinburgh c1770
A very impressive pair of antique, late Victorian English Sterling Corinthian Column Sterling Silver Candlesticks made by Martin & Hall at their Shrewsbury Works in Sheffield and dating from c1900. The candlesticks with reeded columns, the bases decorated with a Ram's head at each corner linked by swags. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "RM/EH" for Martin & Hall (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Crown town mark for Sheffield and date letter "h" for 1900/1901. These large candlesticks measure approx. 13" inches (330mm) in height, the bases 4 1/2" inches (115mm) square. They are in excellent overall condition. The bases are "loaded". This is common with candlesticks where a heavier infill is added to the base in order to increase stability and to prevent them toppling over for obvious safety reasons.

A very good quality, Antique, William IV, Large English Silver Snuff Box. The box was made by Francis Clark in Birmingham and dates from c1836. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "FC" for Francis Clark, the Birmingham town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark and the date letter "n" for 1836/37. The box has reeded sides and engine turned decoration to the base. The lid with a plain silver centre surrounded by an engraved border. The box measures approximately 82mm x 48mm x 20mm. The weight is 94.5g It is in excellent overall condition.

English Silver Snuff Box, Francis Clark c1836
A good quality, Antique, George III, Scottish Sterling Silver Punch or Toddy Ladle made by George Fenwick, Edinburgh and dating from c1815. The ladle has a sterling silver bowl and finial with a baleen stem. The underside of the bowl engraved with a nice family crest for the Clan Sinclair. The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's mark "GF" for George Fenwick, the Scottish thistle silver mark, the Monarchs's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter "j" for 1815/16. It measures just under 6 1/2" inches (165mm) in length. It has a lovely, deep, circular bowl measuring 1 1/2" inches (42mm) in diameter. The Ladle is in excellent condition.

The lid of the box with a gold circular cartouche to the centre with a presentation inscription "J Findlay from his friend R.L.". A Scottish Provincial Silver, small Sauce Ladle made in Montrose by William Mill and dating from c1820. There is an engraved initials "JEW" on the handle. The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's initials "WM" for William Mill (struck three times) and the "rose" town mark for Montrose (struck twice). It measures just under 5 1/2" inches (140mm) in length. The bowl is 1 1/4" inches (31mm) in diameter. It is in excellent condition. William Mill is recorded as working in Montrose c1815 - 1820.

A good pair of Scottish Provincial Silver Wishbone Sugar Tongs by William J Fraser of Ballater. They are hallmarked with the Edinburgh Castle town mark, the Scottish thistle silver mark and date letter "A" 1931/32, above the maker's mark "W.J.F" for William James Fraser of Ballater. After the death of William Robb his Ballater shop was left to his daughter, later taken over by Fraser. Fraser continued to produce many of the silver items made popular by William Robb, such as these tongs.

A very good and rare Set of Six Scottish Provincial Silver Teaspoons made in Banff by William Simpson and dating from c1830. William Simpson is recorded as working in Banff c1825-1855. All spoons have a very good set of cleat marks, with the Maker's Mark "WS" for William Simpson, the "thistle" mark and Letter "B" for Banff. They have engraved initials. It is relatively rare to find a good set of Banff spoons, with all spoons in good condition and clear marks. They measure approximately 5 3/4" inches (145mm) in length.
