A superb Pair of Antique George III, English Provincial Sterling Silver Gravy (Basting or Stuffing) Spoons made by John Langlands I, Newcastle c1770. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "IL" for John Langlands I, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned, the "three castles" Newcastle town mark and date letter "D" for 1770/71.

They measure 12 1/2" inches (315mm) in length. The combined weight of both is 199.8g/7.04oz/6.42ozt

They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "DF" for Josiah Williams & Co (David Landsborough Fullerton), the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "f" for 1921/22. They have the initial "W" engraved to the underside.

Six Victorian English Silver Dessert Forks c1860
A good, matched Set of Six, Fiddle & Thread Pattern, early Victorian English Silver Dessert Forks made in London and dating from c1860. They are from the same canteen of cutlery with five having the armorial crest, the sixth fork has no crest and is slightly smaller, not an exact match to the rest (see photo). Three of the forks are hallmarked with the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the maker's mark "GA" for Chawner & Co (George William Adams), the Leopard's Head london town mark and the date letter "g" for 1862/63. The other two hallmarked with the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the maker's mark "CB" for Charles Boyton , the Leopard's Head london town mark and the date letter "k" for 1865/66. The sixth fork is also hallmarked with the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the maker's mark "GA" for Chawner & Co (George William Adams), the Leopard's Head london town mark and the date letter "O" for 1849/50.
