It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JE/AH" for James Ede & Alexander Hewat, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned London town mark and date letter "O" for 1809/10. It has initials engraved to the front (see photo)

An extremely nice, good quality silver basket made by George Edward & Sons, Buchanan Street, Glasgow. The basket is hallmarked with the maker's mark "DE/GE" for George Edward & Sons (David & George Edward), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Sheffield town mark and date letter "n" for 1905/06. Also stamped with the maker's name "Edward, Glasgow". The decoratively pierced bowl supported on three feet.

The bowl measures 6 1/2" inches (165mm) in diameter, 2" inches (50mm) in height. The weight is 7.90oz/7.22ozt/224.3g

Six English Silver Dessert Forks, London c1840
A very nice, English Silver Presentation Trowel & Gaval made in Birmingham and dating from c1929. It is complete with the original fitted case. The trowel is hallmarked with the maker's mark (worn), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Birmingham town mark and date letter "D" for 1928/29. The trowel with a presentation inscription "Presented to Sir Nairne Stewart Sandeman. Bart. M.P. on the occasion of his laying the corner stone, Middleton Conservative Club, 29th June 1929" Sir Nairne Stewart Sandeman, 1st Baronet was a Conservative Party politician. He was elected at the 1923 general election as Member of Parliament (MP) for Middleton and Prestwich and held the seat until his death in 1940. He was born in Perthshire in 1876 and was educated Trinity College, Glenalmond.

The trowel measures 9 1/2" inches (240mm) in length.
