A rare Set of Six Hanoverian Pattern, Antique George II, Scottish Silver Tablespoons dating from c1745. They are hallmarked with the Edinburgh Castle town mark, the Scottish thistle silver mark and date letter "Q" for 1745/46. They also have the maker's mark "AZ" for Alexander Zeigler, however this appears to have overstruck the original maker's mark.

They measure 8 1/4" inches (210mm) in length. The weight is 433.7g/15.29oz/13.94ozt

A good Set of Four, Antique, William IV, Scottish Sterling Silver Table or Dinner Forks, made by Peter Aitken I , Glasgow and dating from c1834/35. They have an armorial crest engraved on the terminal. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "PA" for Peter Aitken I , the Lion Rampant Scottish sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Glasgow town mark and date letter "P" for 1834/35. Four Antique Scottish Silver Table Forks Glasgow
A hammered Silver bowl made by Robert and William Sorley, watch and clock makers, jewellers and silversmiths, of 1 Buchanan Street and 136 Argyle Street, Glasgow. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "RS/WS" for R & W Sorley, the Glasgow town mark and date letter "I" for 1905/06. The underside stamped with the maker's name "Sorley, Silversmiths, Glasgow" and the design registration number Rd429216. The bowl has a presentation inscription relating to the Caledonian Railway Co, dated 1906 "A token of friendship presented to Mr Thomas Makins by his colleagues, on his leaving the office of The Engineer-In-Chief of The Caledonian Railway Company, 1st November 1906."

It measures 6" inches (150mm) in diameter, 5 1/4" inches (130mm) in height. The weight is 329.5g/11.62oz/10.59ozt

An antique, George III, Scottish Silver Soup Ladle made by James Orr, Greenock and dating from c1802. The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JO" (slightly worn but legible) for James Orr (Greenock), the Scottish thistle silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh Castle town mark and date letter "W" for 1802/03. There is an engraved initial on the handle (see photo).

Large Scottish Silver Gravy Spoon, Edinburgh c1849
A rare Set of Four Scottish Provincial Silver Forks made in Banff by William Simpson c1830. William Simpson is recorded as working in Banff c1825-1855. The forks marked with the Maker's Mark WS for William Simpson, the thistle mark and letter B for Banff. They have the initial Y engraved. The forks measure 6 3/4" inches (170mm) in length. The weight is 181.2g. They are in excellent condition, but have some wear to the tines as can be expected. They would make a great addition to any collection. A nice, antique, early Victorian Scottish Sterling Silver Gravy (Stuffing, Basting or Serving) Spoon made by James McKay in Edinburgh and dating from c1853. The spoon is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JMc." for James McKay, the Scottish "thistle" Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria), the Edinburgh "Castle" town mark and date letter "W" for 1853/54. The terminal engraved with the Clan Ferguson Motto "Dulcius Ex Asperis" (Sweeter after difficulties) above a Bee on a Thistle.

The spoon measures just over 12" inches (310mm) in length. The weight is 142.3g/5.02oz/4.57ozt

They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "W&S" for Wilson & Sharp (Edinburgh), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the anchor Birmingham town mark and date letter "Q" for 1940/41. The plain silver, oval shaped napkin rings have celtic borders and are free of engravings/initials. They come complete with their original presentation case/box, the interior with the maker's name Wilson & Shap Ltd, Diamond Merchants, Goldsmiths & Silversmiths, 139 Princes Street, Edinburgh.

Cased Vintage Pair Silver Sauce Boats c1940
A very elegant George V, Silver Coffee Pot & Hot Water Jug. They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "RS" for Robert Stewart of Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. Robert Stewart held the distinction of having been appointed Goldsmith, Silversmith and Jeweller to Queen Victoria. The coffee pot and water jug were assayed in London, hallmarked with the maker's mark "RS", the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "n" for 1928/29.

They measure 9 1/2" inches (235mm) in height. The bases are 3 3/4" inches (95mm) in diameter. The total weight is 836.6g/29.50oz/26.89ozt
