A very good Antique, Victorian Silver Half Hunter Cased Pocket Watch by J W Benson of London, dating from c1890. The sterling silver watch case is in good condition. The fron cover with the hours in blue enamel Roman numerals. The engine turned engraving has been polishedand is smooth nearer the case side band. The case hallmarked with the maker's mark "JWB" for J W Benson, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "P" for 1890/91. The inner cuvette with a presentation inscription (see photo). The good quality English movement, is signed with the model name "The Field Watch" and the maker "J W Benson, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London". Also with detaisl of the company Royal Warrant - "By Special Warrant to H.M. The Queen & H.R.H The Prince of Wales". The dial also signed by the makers "J W Benson, London". The dial in very good condition, a faint hairline visible from the subs secs dial to the 23 minute mark.

A very good English Silver Hunter Cased Pocket Watch made for a New Zealand retailer - Cyril K Whale Ltd, Christchurch, New Zealand. The plain silver hunter case fully hallmarked with the case maker's mark "P.J", the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "h" for 1923/24. The case with the serial number 52390 to match the movement proving both are original and have been together since new. The English Lever movement signed "Made Expressly for Cyril K. Whale Ltd, Christchurch, N.Z." alongside the serial number 52390. The white enamel dial signed with the retailer's name " Cyril K Whale Ltd, Jewellers, Christchurch". The watch is in excellent condition and working order.

A 10CT Gold Filled American Pocket Watch made by the South Bend Watch Company, USA. This watch is an American Size 16, South Bend Watch Company "Studebaker" model. It has a very good quality 21 Jewel, 8 Adjustments movement. The rear of the case has a steam train engraved but this has worn over the years. The inside of the rear cover and inner cuvette stamped "10 Karat Gold Filled Railroad Model". The dial is in good unrestored condition. It has the watch model name "Studebaker" on the dial. The hours in Arabic numerals and each minute marker also numbered from 1-60. The watch serial number 1,209420 dating it to c1928. The company is well known for its "block of ice" advert where the watch was frozen in a block of ice to demonstrate their adjustment to heat and cold. As part of their advertising campaign they also had a watch boiled in water.

The movement is stem wind and set. The dial is in very good condition. It is signed "Elgin". It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial.

A 9CT Gold "35 Year" Presentation Pocket Watch. The 9CT Gold Watch case made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "ALD" for AL Dennison, "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold, the Birmingham town mark and date letter "L" for 1935/36. The inner cuvette with a "35 Years Service" presentation inscription. The high grade Swiss made, 17 Jewel movement is in excellent condition and good working order.

The dial is signed by the maker "Waltham". It has the hours in arabic numerals and the minutes marked in red from 5-60. The rear of the case has engine turned engraving and a central cartouche that is free of initials. The watch is in good condition and working order.

preseA top quality, Antique, 14CT solid gold, Elgin, Gentleman's Presentation Pocket Watch dating from c1896. The 14 carat solid gold case is in excellent condition. The cover stamped "14K" for 14 carat solid gold under the case maker's name "Keystone". The inner cuvette (dust cover) stamped "Guaranteed 14K/.585 Fine" above "The K.W.C.Co" (The Keystone Watch Case Company). The outside of the case has the owner's initials engraved "JLW" for J L Wilson. The dust cover bearing a presentation inscription "J L Wilson, from friends, Engineering Dept. G.E.Co. New York, June 1st 1916. The high grade movement signed by the makers "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co" and bearing the serial number 6,469839 dating it s manufacture to c1896. It has a lovely damaskeened finish and signed "21 Jewels, adjusted". It has a micro-metric regulator and safety pinion. A superb quality movement. The dial has the hours in arabic numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. There is an outer chapter with the minutes marked in red at 5 min intervals. There is a very minor chip to the centre. Virtually the only minor imperfection in a very fine quality watch.

The opening and closing action also automatically winds the watch. The dial is in good unrestored condition, with some minor marks consistent with age. The "0.935" standard silver case is in very good condition. It has the serial number 12235 and also stamped "Swiss Made, Patent, Fab Suisse" above the retailers name "Kirby, Beard & Co., Paris". The company originated in England c1743 and was trading as Kirby Beard & Co. (Robert Kirby & Gearge Beard) from c1840. They are recorded as retailing in Paris c1850's. There are some names lightly engraved on the watch inner cover (see photo).

It is stamped "Warranted 14K US Assay" on both front and rear covers and also the inner cuvette (dust cover). The watch case has decorative engraving to both front and rear, the front has a central cartouche that is free of initials, the rear also with a central cartouche with a village scene engraved. The watch has a good quality Waltham movement signed "AWWCo, Waltham MASS" and the model name "Ruby", the serial number 12,062980 dating it to c1903. The movement is in good working order. The white enamel dial is in excellent condition, it is signed "Waltham". It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock.
