The medal is suspender is engraved with "Biggar 404" below a Scottish thistle. Biggar is a town in the South Lanarkshire area of Scotland.
The gem set medal has a border engraved with thistles. The rear has the year "1976" to the centre. The border engraved "Presented to SIS Margaret Kempton in appreciation of Services as WM".
It is stamped "9CT" for 9 carat gold.
