Antique English Silver Snuff Box, Birmingham c1837
DescriptionA very good quality, Antique, early Victorian English Silver Presentation Snuff Box made by Thomas Shaw of Birmingham and dating from c1837.
The inside of the base is hallmarked with the maker's mark TS, the Birmingham anchor town mark and date letter O for 1837/38. The inside of the lid with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the maker's mark TS and Lion Passant sterling silver mark.
The exterior of the box with lovely decorative engraving to all the sides.
The lid with a presentation inscription Presented to James Bateman by his Bro. Officers Inl. Rev. 31st Dec 1897.
The box measures 73mm x 42mm x 16mm.
The weight is 78.0g/2.75oz/2.50ozt.
