18CT Gold Victorian English Pocket Watch c1870
DescriptionA good example of a very nice, Antique, Victorian 18CT Gold English Pocket Watch dating from c1870. The watch is a good example, in very good overall condition and in working order. The English 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "J.T.W" for James Thomas White, the "crown" and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "p" for 1870/71. The inner cuvette similarly marked. The case also stamped with the serial number 22045.
The English Lever movement also with the matching serial number. The watch is key wound and set. The dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. The watch measures 49mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 112.6g. A good example of a Victorian Pocket Watch.
