English Silver Pocket Watch, Sunderland c1865
DescriptionAn English, antique, Victorian Gentleman's Silver Pocket Watch dating from c1865.
The English Lever Fusee movement signed by the maker "E Fryde, Sunderland". It has a nicely engraved balance cock and serial number 709. It is key wound and set with the key provided and is complete with dust cover. It is in good working order.
The English sterling silver case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "RC", the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the London town mark and date letter "k" for 1865/66. The case is in good condition, however does have minor indents to the rear and the engraving has been polished smooth over the years.
The white enamel dial is in good condition, it is signed "Improved Patent".
The watch measures 54mm in diameter (across the case, excluding bow ring).
Overall, a nice example of an antique English Pocket Watch
