Heintz Art Metal Sterling Silver on Bronze Bowl
DescriptionA very nice Sterling Silver on Bronze Bowl made by Heintz Art Metal Shop and dating from c1910.
Heintz Art Metal Shop was founded by Otto Heintz (1875-1918) took over the Arts & Crafts Company in Buffalo, New York, in 1903. By 1906 it had become the Heintz Art Metal Shop. It remained in business until 1930.
It is stamped on the base with the maker's mark consisting of the letters "HAMS" for Heintz Art Metal Shop within a diamond mark, above "Sterling on Bronze" and "Pat. Aug 27.12" - this refers to the patent for applying sterling silver to bronze or copper without solder that was granted 27 August 1912.
The bowl is in good condition.
It measures 7 1/4" inches (185mm) in diameter and 3 1/4" inches (80mm) in height.
The weight is 753g/26.5oz
