Scottish Silver Bowl, J McKay Edinburgh 1844
DescriptionA very good quality, Antique, early Victorian, Scottish Sterling Silver Bowl made by James McKay of Edinburgh and dating from c1844.
The bowl is hallmarked with the maker's mark "J.Mc." for James McKay, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Scottish "thistle" Sterling Silver mark, the Edinburgh "Castle" town mark and date letter "N" for 1844/45.
It has a very nice armorial crest engraved to the front of the bowl.
The bowl measures 7" inches (175mm) in diameter. It stands 3 1/2" inches (90mm) in height.
The weight is 353.9g/12.47oz/11.37ozt.
It is in excellent condition.
