A very good quality, Antique, early Victorian Scottish Silver Snuff Box made in by James Nasmyth of Edinburgh and dating from c1837. Scottish made snuff boxes are relatively rare and this is a nice example. The inside of the base is hallmarked with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Scottish thistle silver mark, the maker's mark JN for James Nasmyth, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter f for 1837/38. The inside of the lid similarly hallmarked. The exterior of the box with lovely engine turned engraving to all the sides. The lid with the former owner's engraved initials. The box measures 77mm x 45mm x 14mm. The weight is 78.0g. We always have a good selection of fine quality antique snuff boxes in stock.

Rare Scottish Silver Snuff Box, Edinburgh c1837
A small silver bowl, engraved with a fern leaf design by Angus McFadyen, Edinburgh c2006. The underside of the bowl hallmarked with the maker's mark AHMcF for Angus McFadyen, the .925 sterling silver mark alongside the Scottish Lion Rampant, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter g for 2006. The bowl measures 67mm in diameter and 40mm in height. The weight is 48.5g. It is in excellent condition. The work of Angus McFadyen is highly sought after, mostly working on commissions. In 2010 The Goldsmiths Company commissioned Angus to make a fern vase for its collection. His works are also included in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Larger pieces by McFadyen sell for thousands at auction. Here is an opportunity for a collector to purchase an iconic McFadyen fern design bowl for a more modest outlay.

An impressive, antique Russian Silver Table Snuff Box c1900. The lovely decorated silver box with rose gold and sapphire set thumbpiece. The interior of the box stamped with Russian control marks for silver. The gold thumbpiece stamped with maker's mark and 58 for 14 carat gold. A rare Scottish Provincial Silver Teaspoon made by Joseph Pozzi & Robert Stewart, Elgin and dating from c1840. Pozzi & Stewart are recorded in Jackson's Silver as working in Elgin from c1840. It has very good, clear marks, with the maker’s mark “JP” for Joseph Pozzi, the "ELN" town mark for Elgin and the makers mark "RS" for Robert Stewart, . It measures approximately 5 1/23/4" inches (148mm) in length. The weight is 22.5g.

Rare Scottish Provincial Spoon, JP&RS, Elgin
A small, Antique, Victorian English Silver Mug, made in London and dating from c1882. This lovely small mug was probably a christening mug originally. It is free of engravings or any form of personal inscriptions. The mug hallmarked with the maker's mark "WE" for William Evans, the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter G for 1882/83. It is in very good condition. It does have a couple of minor flat spots to the base edge rim, however nothing untoward and excellent condition for age. It measures 3" inches (77mm) in height. It is of slightly tapered form, measuring 60mm diameter at the base and 55mm diameter at the top. The capacity is approximately 7oz (190ml).

A very good, 18th century, George III, English Sterling Silver Marrow Scoop made in London and dating from c1768. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "WC", the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned London town mark and date letter "n" for 1768/69. There is a nicely engraved Stag's Head crest. This marrow scoop is in excellent condition. It measures approximately 8 1/2" inches (220mm) in length. The weight is 46.4g. A lovely example of English Georgian silver for the antique silver collector.

A very nice pair of novelty, sterling silver table ornaments, realistically modelled as grouse game birds by Edward Barnard & Sons Limited of Hatton Garden, London dating from c1962. Each bird is hallmarked with the makers mark for Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter (f for 1961/2 and g for 1962/3). The model birds are in very good condition. They measure approximately 115mm in length and 60mm in height. The combined weight of both birds is 328.0g. A lovely pair of ornamental silver grouse.

ENGLISH STERLING SILVER PRESENTATION TROPHY HIP FLASK, DIXON SHEFFIELD c1925 A good quality, English Sterling Silver Hip Flask. The base is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JD&S" for James Dixon & Sons Limited (Sheffield), the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the crown Sheffield town mark and date letter "h" for 1925/26. The hip flask was presented as the Scotch Terrier Breeders Trophy, awarded to Charles Young in January 1927 (see photo of inscription). The flask is stamped with the capacity 1/2 Pint. It measures 150mm x 100mm x 30mm. The weight is 320.5g. The flask is in good condition with surface scratches to the lower half where it is removed from the cup.
