A very good quality, Gentleman's Antique 18CT Gold Pocket Watch. The watch is in very good overall condition and in working order. The English made, heavy, 18CT gold case is in very good condition. It is hallmarked with maker's mark "IJTN" for Isaac Jabez Theo Newsome, the "crown" and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Chester town mark and date letter (letter worn). The case is in very good overall condition. It has an engraved monogram to the front cover. The English Lever movement is in working order. It is stem wound and pin set. The dial is in excellent condition, see photo. It has Roman numerals for the hours and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. The watch measures approximately 50mm in diameter (excuding stem and bow ring). The weight is 104.6g

18CT Gold Gent's Hunter Case Pocket Watch
An immaculate, very good quality, antique, Swiss made, 18K gold Gentleman's Half Hunter Pocket watch, originally retailed by Bracher & Sydenham, Reading. The jewellers Bracher & Sydenham, were holders of the Royal Warrant and traded from Minster Street in Reading. The 18 carat gold case is stamped "18K" for 18 carat gold alongside Swiss control marks. The plain gold case is free of engraved initials. The inner cuvette has the retailers name engraved on the bottom edge "Bracher & Sydenham, Reading". The very good quality, Swiss made movement is in excellent condition and working order. The white enamel dial is in excellent condition. It has the hours in Arabic numerals. The watch measures 44mm across the case. The weight is 75.9g

18CT Gold Gentleman's Half Hunter Pocket Watch
A rare, antique, good quality, Jump Hour Pocket Watch in superb condition and working order made by Cortebert. Cortébert was one of the highest regarded premium watch brands, manufacturing their own movements, and also supplying movements to other brands, including Rolex. The watch has a gun metal case. The inner cuvette is glazed allowing the movement to be examined without exposing it. The very good quality Swiss made movement is in excellent condition and working order. It measures 38mm in diameter (across the case).

Rare Cortebert Swiss Jump Hour Pocket Watch
A good example of an Antique, George III, English Silver Pair cased Pocket Watch with a Verge Fusee movement. The watch was movement signed by the maker "L Hood, London" and has the serial number 3084. It is in working order. The case hallmarked with the maker's mark "RN", the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned london town mark and date letter "L" for 1806/07. The dial is in good condition but does have a few faint hairlines as can be seen and a chip of the edge at eight o'clock. This is a larger than usual sized verge watch, measuring 65mm across the case.

A very good, antique, Gold Filled, Hunter Cased Pocket Watch made by the Hampden Watch Company of Canton, Ohio, United States of America and dating from c1905. The watch is in very good condition and working order. The watch movement is signed with the company trade mark symbol "HWCo", Canton, O. U.S.A and has the serial number 2,0566,683 dating the manufacture to c1905. The movement is stem wound and lever set, the time being set by turning the winding crown after pulling out the small lever located on the edge of the bezel at five o'clock. The dial is signed by the maker "Hampden Watch Co.". It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. The watch has a very good quality, gold filled case. The inner cuvette stamped "Duebar, Warranted 20 Years". The case with lovely engraving to both front and rear covers. The front with a small central cartouch with engraved initials of the original owner. The owner's name "George" also engraved on the inner cuvette. The watch measures 47mm in diameter, measured across the case.

A rare, good quality, George III, antique, English 18CT Gold Pocket Watch made by Grimalde & Johnson, the Strand, London and dating from c1815. Grimalde & Johnson are recorded as working in London c1800 - 1826. The 18CT gold, English watch case is in excellent condition. It is hallmarked with the "crown" and "18" for 18CT gold, the Leopard's Head crowned London town mark and date letter "U" for 1815. The inside of the case also with the serial number 6014 to match the movement proving both are original and have been together since new. The rear of the case with engine turned engraving. The fusee movement in excellent condition and working order. It is signed by the maker's "Grimalde & Johnson, Strand, London" with the serial number 6014. It is key wound and set with the key provided and is complete with dust cover. The gold dial with engine turned engraving to the centre and a lovely pair of original hands. The watch measures 46mm in diameter (across the case) and the weight is 100.4g.

Antique 18CT Gold English Hunter Case Pocket Watch
A good quality timer made by Thomas Armstrong & Brother, Manchester. The centre seconds hand operated by a slide mechanism on the side of the case, re-set by depressing the button at the top. It measures 60mm in diameter and 25mm in height. It is complete with case. The case with scuff marks and the hinge slightly adrift, in need of some TLC. Thomas Armstrong & Brother, Manchester were important producers of scientific instruments. The company was originally founded in 1825 by Joseph Armstrong. Following his death in 1851 the company was taken over by Thomas Armstrong and was re-named Thomas Armstrong & Brother.

9CT Gold Half Hunter Pocket Watch owned by Mr George H Allan. An immaculate 9CT Gold Half Hunter Pocket Watch. The watch has a good quality Helvetia 15 Jewel Swiss made movement. The English made 9CT solid gold case by the Dennison Watch Case Company. It is hallmarked with "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold, the Birmingham town mark, the maker's mark "ALD" for A L Dennison and date letter "S" for 1917/18. The front cover with the hours in Roman numerals in nice blue enamel. The white enamel dial with the maker's name "Helvetia" and also "Swiss Made", complimented by a lovely set of original blue steel hands. The good quality movement signed "Helvetia" and "Swiss made, 15 Jewels" It measures 49mm in diameter. The weight is 98.2g. PROVENANCE: The watch is a "50 Year" presentation Pocket Watch. The inner cuvette (dustcover) engraved : "Presented by Colvilles Limited to Mr George H Allan on completion of Fifty Years Service, May 1948". The rear cover has the former owner's initials engraved "GHA". The watch was presented to Mr George H Allan, retiring Office Manager at Clydebridge Steel Works, by Sir John Craig, Chairman of Colvilles at a function on Friday 28th May 1948. I have a photograph of an article relating to this, with a picture of Mr Allan being presented with the watch. The article will be sent to the buyer. Colvilles Limited were a Scottish Steel and Iron Works Company founded by David Colville. In 1860, as joint-partner in the firm of Colville & Gray, he established the Clifton Iron Works at Coatbridge. Ten years later when his initial partnership had come to an end David Colville established the Dalzel Works at Motherwell.
