A nice Antique Georgian English Silver Verge Fusee Pocket Watch, in very good condition and in working order. Both cases are in good condition. The outer hallmarked with the Lion Passant silver mark, the crowned Leopard's head London town mark, the case maker’s initials "GC" and the date letter "N" for 1808/09. The inner case unmarked. The Verge Fusee movement is in working order. It is key wound and set. The movement has a nicely engraved balance cock and has the serial number 1844. It is signed by the maker "Edwin Box, Chichester", the dust cover also signed by the maker and with the matching serial number. It is Key wound and set with the key provided. The white enamel dial is in good condition, but has minor hairlines and chips at the edge (see photo). It has the hours in Roman numerals. The glass is in very good condition.

A Scottish Fusee Pocket Watch made by John P Hutton of Edinburgh and dating from c1876. Please note this watch is not currently in working order, therefore being sold as in need of service/repair. The English silver case hallmarked with the case maker's mark "PW" the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "A" for 1876/77. The fusee movement signed by the maker "Jn P Hutton, Edinburgh". The dial also signed by the maker. The inside of the rear cover has an old watch maker's paper from John Patterson, St Andrews.

An antique "Goliath" large, over sized, pocket watch complete with silver mounted travel/display case. The watch is in good condition and good working order. The base metal watch case is in excellent condition. The Swiss made movement is in excellent condition and very good working order. The inner cuvette opens to reveal the movement, protected by a glazed (plastic) cover. The watch dial is in reasonably good condition but does have some damage between one and two o'clock (see photo). The travel case is in good condition with only some minor indents to the silver and scuff marks to the rear. It was hallmarked in Birmingham (date and maker's mark worn).

The watch measures approx. 65mm in diameter. The silver case 110mm x 100mm x 30mm

Goliath Pocket Watch & Silver Travelling Case
A rare Silver Pair Cased Verge Pocket Watch made by D Smith of St Andrews in Scotland and dating from c1841. Scottish verge watches are relatively rare. Therefore this is a nice collector's item, although it has some imperfections. The outer silver case is in good condition. The inner case has some minor indents. It is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "JW", the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "f" for 1841/42. The inner case with an old watchmaker's paper from D Smith, St Andrews. The movement is signed by the maker "D Smith, St Andrews" and has the serial number 218. It is in relatively good condition, but not currently in working order therefore in need of repair/restoration. It is complete and can be made to run for a while if held on its side, but stops. The dial has some hairlines as can be seen. Overall a nice example of an old verge fuse pocket watch.

Rare Scottish Verge Pocket Watch, St Andrews c1841
An Antique, Edwardian, 18CT Gold Centre Seconds Chronograph Pocket Watch. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "IJTN" Isaac Jabez Theo Newsome (Watch manufacturer, The Butts, Coventry), the "crown" and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Chester town mark and date letter "f" for 1906/07. The watch bears a presentation inscription dating from c1910. The gold case is in good condition but there are several indents to the case side band. The dial in very good condition. The watch is in working order but the start/stop mechanism does not function. This is often disconnected as it was a fairly crude method of stopping the watch.

It measures 52mm in diameter. The weight is 119.0g

The 9CT Gold case is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JWB" for J W Benson, "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "t" for 1934/35. The good quality 15 Jewel movement is signed "JW Benson". Also signed "Swiss Made" - by this period JW Benson imported good quality Swiss movements for their watches.
