A good, large, antique, Scottish Silver mounted Ram's Horn Snuff Mull dating from c1850. The snuff mull is of conventional form, the hinged silver mounted lid with a central disc with engraved initials "AR". The body of the mull in good condition, with a lovely colour to the horn as can be seen. The silver mounts unmarked as is the norm, therefore selling as white metal. This mull is of a relatively larger size, it measures approximately 4 1/2" inches (120mm) in length.

A very good Scottish Provincial Silver Serving Spoon or large Tablespoon made by William Jamieson & Co of Aberdeen and dating from c1806. It is marked with the maker's mark "WJ&Co" and "ABD" the town mark for Aberdeen alongside another letter. The mark "WJ&Co is relatively rare as Jamieson only used this mark for a limited period. The spoon has an engraved initial to the terminal. The spoon is in very good overall condition. It measures 8 3/4" inches (225mm) in length.

A large Scottish Silver Bowl by Brook & Son, Edinburgh. During excavations in 1919 an archaeological team discovered a hoard of Roman Silver at Traprain Law, near Edinburgh, believed to have been buried around the middle of the 5th Century AD. The hoard is on display at the National Museums of Scotland in Edinburgh. Brook & Son of Edinburgh were the silversmiths used to restore the haul and subsequently they made copies under license. The bowl is hallmarked on the underside of the base with the maker's name "Brook & Son, 87 George Street, Edinburgh", the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the castle Edinburgh town mark and date letter "A" for 1931/32. Also stamped "Traprain Treasure 1919, Authorised Reproduction". It is in good condition with light surface scratches. It measures 2" inches (50mm) in height and 82" inches (205mm) in diameter. The weight is 552g/17.5oz

A very good quality, large, Sterling Silver Scottish Quaich made by Hamilton & Inches of Edinburgh. This Quaich is of a larger size, it is plain silver and has not been engraved, therefore would be worthy of consideration should you be looking for a silver trophy or a presentation piece. The Quaich was assayed in Edinburgh, it is hallmarked with the maker's mark "H&I" for Hamilton & Inches, the Lion Rampant Sterling Silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter "C" for 1977. It also has the Queens Head (Queen Elizabeth II) to mark the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977. The Quaich measures 7" inches (177mm) in diameter (across the bowl) and measures just over 10" inches (257mm) in width across the lugs. It stands 2 3/4" inches (66mm) in height. The weight is 357.4g/12.60oz/11.49ozt It is in excellent condition with very minimal light scratches in the bowl.

A good, Antique, Scottish Silver mounted Ram's Horn Snuff Mull dating from c1834. The snuff mull is of conventional form, the domed silver lid with a central agate cabochon. The silver lid of the mull engraved with a presentation inscription: Presented by the Hamilton Horticultural Society to Mr Matthew Gardner as a mark of respect, 1834" The body of the mull in good condition, there are a couple of minor indents to the lid as can be seen. The silver mounts unmarked as is the norm, therefore selling as white metal. This mull measures approximately 3 1/4" inches (90mm) in length.

A very good antique, Victorian, Scottish Sterling Silver mounted Cowrie Shell Snuff Mull made in Edinburgh and dating from c1898. It is relatively rare to find this type of Snuff Mull with full sterling silver hallmarks. The inside of the lid is hallmarked with the maker's mark "M&R" for Mitchell & Russell, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter "r" for 1898/99. The mull is in very good condition. It measures 3 1/2" inches (90mm) in length.

A large, Antique, Masonic interest, Scottish Silver mounted Ram's Horn Snuff Mull dating from c1850. The snuff mull is of conventional form, the lid with an applied disc to the centre engraved with a "thistle". The silver band at the top of the mull engraved with the original owner's name "William Munro". The body of the mull with an applied silver shield engraved with Masonic symbols. In good condition but does have some cracks to the horn as can be seen. The silver mounts unmarked as is the norm, therefore selling as white metal. This mull is of a slightly larger size, it measures approximately 4 1/2" inches (120mm) in length.

A very nice Scottish Provincial Silver Sugar Shovel made by George Jamieson, Aberdeen c1841. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "GJ" for George Jamieson and "ABDN." the Aberdeen town mark alongside Edinburgh hallmarks dating 1841/42. It is in excellent condition. It measures 5 1/2" inches (145mm) in length. The weight is 22.7g

A very good, Scottish Silver mounted Vinaigrette in the form of a Ram's Horn Snuff Mull dating from c1860. The Ram's Horn body of the vinaigrette in very good condition. The silver collar and lid in excellent condition. The silver collar and lid, unmarked as is the norm, therefore must sell as white metal. It measures approximately 2 1/4" inches (55mm in length).

A rare, unusual, cased pair of Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Spoons made by John Maitland Talbot in Edinburgh and dating from c1905. John Maitland Talbot (1861-1909)was a Scottish jeweller, registered at Glasgow and Edinburgh Assay Offices. He led a workshop for the Lynedoch School of Artistic Handicraft in Edinburgh in the early 1890’s and was known to work for Phoebe Anna Traquair (1852-1936), an Irish artist who was a leading member of the Scottish Arts and Crafts movement. The spoons are hallmarked with the maker's mark "J.M.T", for John Maitland Talbot, the Scottish "thistle" sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "z" for 1905/06. The first spoon representing the City of Edinburgh Coat of Arms, the terminal depicting the "castle triple-towered" and the stem engraved with the motto of the City’s arms "NISI DOMINUS FRUSTRA", taken from the Latin version of Psalm 1271 and translated as ‘it is vain without the Lord’. The terminal of the other spoon depicting the crucifixion of St Andrew on a ‘saltire’, or X-shaped cross (St Andrew’s cross) which became his symbol. The stem engraved "S ANDRO FOR SCOTLAND XXX". A very nice, unusual pair of sterling silver spoons, complete with their original velvet lined, fitted, presentation case. They are in excellent condition. The spoons measure 7 3/4" inches (197mm) in length. The combined weight is 110.1g/3.88oz/3.53ozt

A very good, George V, English sterling silver Vase made in Sheffield and dating from c1918. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "WB&S" for William Batt & Sons, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Sheffield town mark and date letter "a" for 1918/19.
