An exquisite Antique, Early Victorian, English Silver Presentation Snuff Box made by the highly regarded maker, Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham. The box is hallmarked on the inside, the lid having the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria), the maker's mark "N.M" and the Lion Passant Silver Mark. The base having the maker's mark "N.M", the Monarch's Head and the Lion Passant, alongside the Birmingham town mark and date letter "x" for 1846/47. There is a very nice Railway Interest Presentation Inscription inside the lid of the box, presented to Colonel Sir Eric Gore Browne DSO (1885 - 1964) hogmanay, 31 December 1947 (see photos), 100 years after the box was made. The inscription reads as follows: To Col. Eric Gore Browne DSO, Chairman Southern Railway Company, from his Officers, 31st December 1947. The lid of the box has a very nice engraving depicting the Coat of Arms of the Southern Railway Company. Colonel Sir Eric Gore Browne (1885-1964) was a soldier, businessman and banker.During the First World War Gore Browne was called to active duty, arriving in France with his battalion on 13 March 1915. He served throughout the war in various staff posts, and rose to the rank of brevet major. He was mentioned in despatches and won the French Croix de Guerre and the Distinguished Service Order. He also served in World War II. There is a portrait of him in the National Portrait Gallery. The box is in excellent condition. It measures approximately 86mm x 57mm x 22mm. The weight is 118.1g/4.16oz/3.79ozt.

A lovely Scottish Sterling Silver Brooch, Celtic design, Entwined Herons, Tain Silver. The rear of the brooch hallmarked with the maker's mark "RS" for Rita Scott (Rita & Douglas Scott, trading as Tain Silver), the Lion Rampant silver mark, the Edinburgh Castle town mark and date letter "R" for 1991. The brooch measures 48mm in width.

Scottish Provincial Silver Brooch, Tain Silver
A lovely pair of Antique, late Victorian, English Silver Cased Binoculars /Opera Glasses made for Le Jockey Club, Paris by Henry Charles Kerly and dating from c1898. The Jockey Club de Paris is best remembered as a gathering of the elite of nineteenth-century French society. The club still exists at 2 Rue Rabelais, and hosts the International Federation of Racing Authorities. It is a traditional gentlemen's club regarded as one of the most prestigious clubs in Paris. The silver case hallmarked with the maker's mark "H.C.K" for Henry Charles Kerly (Powell Street, King Square, London EC), the lion passant sterling silver mark, the Birmingham town mark and date letter "y" for 1898/99. The rim of the eye pieces with the club name "Le Jockey Club, Paris". They are in good condition but do have a few dents (see photos), mainly around the rims, they have been used.

Victorian Silver Binoculars, Jockey Club, Paris
A very good quality, Antique, George III, Sterling Silver Presentation Salver/Tray made by George Fenwick, Edinburgh and dating from c1809. The tray has a very nice presentation inscription to the centre, surrounded by Scottish thistles: Adjudged by the Highland Society of Scotland, to Sir Benjn. Dunbar of Hempriggs Bart., For the Best Bull the property of any person in the County of Caithnefs, Exhibited at the competition at Spittalhill in 1806". Sir Benjamin Dunbar of Hempriggs, 3rd Baronet, was born in 1761. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "GF" for George Fenwick, Edinburgh, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Scottish "thistle" sterling silver mark, the "Castle" Edinburgh town mark and date letter "d" for 1809/10. The heavy gauge, circular tray is supported on three bracket feet. The tray measures 11" inches (280mm) in diameter. The weight is 648g/22.9oz. It is in very good condition with very minimal light scratches/wear through normal use commensurate with age.

George III, Scottish Silver Presentation Salver
A very rare and good example of an early George III, Scottish Sterling Silver Teapot made by Lothian & Robertson in Edinburgh and dating from c1765. The underside of the teapot is hallmarked with the maker's mark "L&R" for Lothian & Robertson, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter "L" for 1765/66. The teapot is of inverted pear shape and has a chased decorative border - see photos. The teapot measures 6 1/2" inches (160mm) in height. The weight is 642g/22.7oz.

Rare George III, Scottish Silver Teapot, L&R c1765
A very good quality, Sterling Silver Scottish Quaich made by in Edinburgh. The Quaich was assayed in Edinburgh, it is hallmarked with the maker's mark "J&C", the Lion Rampant Sterling Silver mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "O" for 1988. It has the Aberdeen "Bon Accord" coat of arms engraved to the centre. The Quaich measures over 4" inches (105mm) in diameter (across the bowl) and measures nearly 5 1/2" inches (137mm) in width across the lugs. It stands just under 1 1/2" inches (35mm) in height. The weight is 127.5g/4.49oz/4.09ozt It is in excellent condition.

A very nice, Antique, George III, English Silver Snuff Box. The box was made in Birmingham and dates from c1805. It is hallmarked on the inside of the lid and base with the maker's mark "IS" for John Shaw, the Birmingham town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark and the date letter "h" for 1805/06. A nice, Antique, Scottish Silver mounted Ram's Horn Snuff Mull dating from c1850. The snuff mull is of conventional form, the lid with an applied disc to the centre engraved with the original owner's initials. The hinge in the form of a Scottish thistle. The silver band at the top of the mull engraved with the original owner's name "Peter Macdonald". In good condition, the mounts would benefit from a light polish if desired, as can be seen.
