A pair of Traprain Law Scottish Silver Spoons by Brook & Son, Edinburgh. During excavations in 1919 an archaeological team discovered a hoard of Roman Silver at Traprain Law, near Edinburgh, believed to have been buried around the middle of the 5th Century AD. The hoard is on display at the National Museums of Scotland in Edinburgh. Brook & Son of Edinburgh were the silversmiths used to restore the haul and subsequently they made copies under license. The spoons are hallmarked with the maker's mark "B&S" for Brook & Son, Edinburgh, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the castle Edinburgh town mark and date letter "P" for 1920/21. They measure 8 3/4" inches (220mm) in length. The combined weight (of both) is 59.7g/2.10oz/1.91ozt.

A good George III, Scottish Sterling Silver Soup Ladle, John Zeigler, Edinburgh c1809. The ladle hallmarked with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the maker's mark "Z" for John Zeigler, the Scottish "thistle" silver mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "d" for 1809/10. There are engraved initials to the terminal - see photo. A very nice ladle in good condition. It measures 14 1/2" inches (370mm) in length. The weight is 207.3g/7.31oz/6.66ozt.

English Sterling Silver Stamp Case/Wallet c1913
A good, antique, Scottish Silver mounted Ram's Horn Snuff Mull dating from c1827. The snuff mull is of conventional form, the hinged silver mounted lid with a central circular disc with engraved initials "From WD to PD, 1827". The body of the mull in good condition, with a lovely colour to the horn as can be seen. The silver mounts unmarked as is the norm, therefore selling as white metal.

Antique Scottish Ram's Horn Snuff Mull c1827
A rare, Scottish Provincial Silver Teaspoon made in Arbroath by Andrew Davidson and dating from c1840. Andrew Davidson is recorded in Jackson's Silver as working in Arbroath c1835 to 1850. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "AD" for Andrew Davidson, alongside his Arbroath marks. There are engraved initials on the handle (see photos). It measures 5 3/4" inches (145mm) in length. The weight is 18.2g. It is in good condition.

Early Georgian English Silver Mote Spoon c1750
A good quality, vintage, Scottish Sterling Silver mounted Horn Skean Dhu made in Edinburgh and dating from c1976. The silver mount hallmarked with the maker's mark "T.E" for Thomas Kerr Ebutt, the Scottish Lion Rampant sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter "B" for 1976. Also stamped "Made in Scotland". The Skean Dhu with a Horn hilt, silver mounts and a stainless steel blade. The total length is 8 1/4" inches (210mm).

A very good Antique Victorian English Sterling Silver Presentation Lidded Tankard by Daniel & Charles Houle, London and dating from c1865. The tankard is hallmarked on the underside of the base with the maker's mark "DH/CH" for Daniel & Charles Houle, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver Mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "k" for 1865/66. Also hallmarked on the inside of the lid. The lid with a later engraved presentation inscription, having been won at the Wilton Sheep Fair : "Wilton Fair 1896, Presented by the Earl of Pembroke, for the best 100 Wether Lambs won by George Blake" This is a very good example and in excellent condition. It measures 5 1/2" inches (135mm) in height. The base just under 4 1/2" inches (112mm) in diameter. The weight is 435.1g/15.35oz/13.99ozt.

Victorian Sterling Silver Lidded Tankard c1865
A very good quality English Sterling Silver Compact made by Garrard & Co. The House of Garrard is the longest serving jewellery house in the world, established in 1735. Crown Jewellers to the British Royal Family. The box is hallmarked on the inside, with the maker's mark "G&CoLd" for Garrard & Company Limited, the Lion Passant Silver Mark, the anchor Birmingham town mark and date letter "G" for 1956/57. It has engine turned engraving to all sides, the lid with a gold thumb piece at the front. An item of excellent quality and in very good condition. It measures 65mm x 65mm x 10mm. The weight is 100.2g/3.53oz/3.21ozt.

It has floral scrolling engraved decoration with initials engraved to the centre (see photo). It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "FH" for Francis Howden, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "U" for 1800/01.
